Swishing for charity - the recessionista's dream
Published 30 October 2009
Catriona Lonie is raising money for her Alzheimer's Society Cycle Cuba challenge by holding an exclusive swishing event (swapping clothes) in the heart of Mayfair.
Held on Thursday 26 November at the University Women's Club, Audely Court in London's Mayfair, this swishing event is in aid of raising essential funds for Alzheimer's Society.
Catriona Lonie said,
'Working with people who have dementia and their carers has opened my eyes to the struggles they face everyday and the lack of awareness surrounding dementia. I chose to take on the Cycle Cuba challenge to push my own boundaries and do something to help raise not only money but awareness amongst my friends and family.'
'The Art of Swishing involves getting together to swap gorgeous clothes/shoes/accessories and party at the same time. Everyone must bring at least one (but as many as you like) good quality, clean item of clothing, shoes or an accessory, that they'd feel proud to hand on'.
Who/What/Where?
Tickets cost £10 and all you have to do is bring at least one item with you and then swap away - more specific detail/guidelines will be available closer to the time. The evening will start at 7pm with a viewing period as people arrive and the official swishing will start around 7.30/8ish.
You will be able to enjoy a glass of wine while you peruse. There will also be a raffle on the night.
