Women hit the road for the Society

Comic Jo Brand joined over 260 women running in races around England in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.
The Society enjoyed a massive turnout in the Hydroactive Women's Challenge, with supporters taking part in events in London, Birmingham and Liverpool.
Runners in London's Hyde Park were joined by Jo Brand, who expressed her determination to give champion Paula Radcliffe a run for her money - as well as the reasons underlying her committment to the Society:
'People always think it's hilarious when I say am going to be running in a race - I don't know why- but I'll have the last laugh when I come stomping home in front of Paula Radcliffe. On a serious note, whilst working as a psychiatric nurse I saw how devastating dementia can be for the whole family. Caring for a friend or family member with Alzheimer's disease is no joke. That's why this is the second year that I am running for the Alzheimer's Society.'
Both Jo and Paula Radcliffe have donated their medals to the Society - we'll be auctioning them both on Ebay soon.
