Alzheimer's Society chosen as Daily Mail's charity for Christmas appeal

Alzheimer's Society has been chosen as the Daily Mail's charity for its Christmas Appeal, which will run from today (2 December), in the run up to Christmas.
The appeal gives readers the chance to find out more about the Society and make a donation to help us care for people today and find a cure for tomorrow.An estimated 700,000 people in the UK have dementia; one in three people over 65 will die with it.
Behind the statistics lies countless personal tragedies, the stories of individuals: mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, wives and husbands.
During December, Daily Mail will speak to many people affected by dementia including high profile supporters and dementia experts to show the true impact of dementia on our society.
By 2025 a staggering one million people in the UK will have dementia.
