Alzheimer's Society selected as charity of choice for BUPA Great Runs 2009
Published 17 October 2008
Alzheimer’s Society is hugely excited to have been chosen, along with Alzheimer Scotland, as the official charity for the 2009 Bupa Great Runs series.

Receiving official charity status is such a great opportunity for us to increase our profile.
We expect to bring in over 8,000 runners to the Society's Stampeder Team and to raise £1 million.
The partnership will also help raise awareness of dementia and the services offered by Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland so that we can reach even more people living with dementia.
Jo Swinhoe, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Alzheimer's Society, said:
'We are delighted to be the nominated charity for the 2009 Bupa Great Run Series. Alzheimer's Society needs to raise money to care for people today and to find a cure for tomorrow.
Every Alzheimer's Society runner will help us take great strides forward in our fight against dementia. We hope this partnership will be a runaway success.'
