Today, celebrities will join forces with the broking whizzes at ICAP on their annual charity day, to raise money for 25 charities including the Alzheimer's Society.

ICAP is the world's largest inter-dealer broker, and on one day a year the firm gives away its revenues and commissions to charity. It's the biggest charity day in the City of London - last year they raised over £7.1 million globally, with £3.4 million raised in London alone.
This year ICAP are hoping to raise a significant amount of money for the Alzheimer's Society. The money raised will be invested in two exciting research projects focussing on a new treatment for Alzheimer's disease and a new way to diagnose the disease quickly and accessibly. Both projects offer hope for hundreds of thousands of people with dementia.
Actress Lynda Bellingham, and television presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will turn out to support the Alzheimer's Society and try their hand at broking some of Britain's most important deals, with all commissions going to charity.
Alzheimer's Society Ambassador, Lynda Bellingham says,
'My mother had dementia and my family and I cared for her for many years until sadly, she died recently. Dementia isn't just about memory loss; it robs people of their lives. I'm here to raise as much money as I can to support the Alzheimer's Society find a cure and a better way to diagnose this terrible condition much earlier, so people with dementia and their families can get the support they so desperately need much, much earlier. I've always wanted to play a wheeler-dealer - now's my chance to do it for real! Here's hoping I have the Midas touch.'
Alzheimer's Society supporter Ruth Langsford says,
'I can't wait to do a deal to support the Alzheimer's Society and the work they do to help people with dementia and their carers. My father Dennis has Alzheimer's, so I know what a cruel disease it is and how it affects everyone in a family. I'm looking forward to getting on the stock market floor and doing something positive to help him and the millions of other families caring for someone with this, as yet, incurable condition. Thank you to everyone at ICAP for their enormous generosity and for letting me and Eamonn get close to some serious amounts of money!'
