Memory Walk 2012 raises over £1 million
Published 15 January 2013
Thanks to your support, for the first time ever, Memory Walk has raised over £1 million for people living with dementia.
Thousands of people across the UK got together in September 2012 to help fight dementia in the Society's flagship fundraising event, Memory Walk.
From Elvis tribute acts to cake sales, people had a day to remember at their local Memory Walk, coming together to raise awareness of dementia and help raise funds to improve the lives of people living with the disease, and find a cure for the future.
For the first time ever, Memory Walk has raised over £1 million in fundraising, which is simply fantastic news, and is all thanks to the committed support of each and every walker.
Kathryn Betts, Memory Walk Project Manager said,
'We are so thrilled to announce that we have hit the £1 million mark for Memory Walk which is the most the walking series has ever raised. This is all thanks to the dedication and support of our walkers, who come together each September to share their experiences of dementia and have a fun day out to raise even more awareness about the disease. Memory Walk 2013 has already launched, so please do join us to help us make it even bigger and better than before.'
