A new year of fundraising at The Oracle

Published 14 January 2013

We are delighted to announce that The Oracle in Reading has selected Alzheimer's Society as one of its three charitable partners for 2013.

This has been a successful initiative which The Oracle has been committed to for a number of years, and will see all three charities run a series of fundraising events and activities at the centre.

Money raised at The Oracle will support Alzheimer's Society as it works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Steve Belam, General Manager at The Oracle, commented,

'We are delighted to be supporting these three very worthy causes this year, and to be welcoming the Alzheimer's Society as our new national charity partner. The Reading branch is based just a stone's throw from The Oracle, so we will be able to see first-hand the vital work carried out by the charity. I am sure the continued generosity of our customers will continue to make a real impact in 2013.'

Ellie Hughes from Alzheimer's Society, added,

'We are very pleased to have been chosen as one of The Oracle's charity partners for this year. Dementia is caused by brain diseases; the most common is Alzheimer's. Dementia affects the lives of over 800,000 people in the UK, and every penny raised through donations from staff and shoppers will go towards supporting people with dementia to live well today and fight for a world without dementia tomorrow.'

Alzheimer's Society will hold information stands and collections at The Oracle in the future, keep checking our local information page for details.
