Information about support over the festive period

Published 18 December 2012

The National Dementia Helpline is a lifeline for many people who don't know where else to turn, or who cannot always access local services.

The Society’s skilled advisers provide specialist information on all forms of dementia, along with emotional support.  The Helpline will be closed over part of the Christmas period ( find out more about the Helpline's Christmas period opening hours) but we want to be sure that people feel supported during this time. Talking Point is our online forum, and will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Here you can ask for advice, share information, join in discussions and feel supported by others.

Megan Cruise, Advice Service Manager, says,

'It is extremely important that people feel they can access support over the Christmas period. It can be a very emotional and isolating time and at all times people will either be able to speak with a trained Helpline Adviser or seek peer support through our online forum.'
