A fundraising December Dander in County Down in aid of Alzheimer's Society

Published 10 December 2012

Young supporter, Maeve Magee from Ardglass organised a sponsored walk on Saturday 8 December 2012 in memory of her granny, Alice and raised £136.26.

Many thanks to Maeve and her friends for choosing to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society. They 'dandered' from The Heights Bar at Green Heights Corner to Ballydock Road before heading back into Ardglass, County Down. Maeve says;

'A couple of weeks ago my granny passed away with Alzheimer's and in remembrance of her I wanted to raise money for the charity. I wanted to be able to help people who are suffering from the disease. I will like to thank anyone who donated and supported me! I would also like to thank my support worker and those who went on the walk with me I know my granny will be very proud.'

There is still time to sponsor her Justgiving page

If you would like to get involved in fundraising in your local area we have lots of ideas for fundraising individually or there are many events that you can sign up to. All funds raised will go towards supporting Alzheimer's Society fulfill our ambition of a world without dementia.
