Solent singers with their cheque

The Solent Singers Choir from Warsash were delighted to present Natalie Bettinson, Community Fundraiser for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, with a cheque for £1,300.

The money was raised at The Solent Singers' sell-out Summer Concert which took place in July.

The Solent Singers choir is a 40-strong group which has been entertaining the local community in Warsash with a variety of music for over 50 years, from modern to traditional songs, and from show stoppers to sacred songs. The choir arranges and performs carol concerts every Christmas and each summer performs its Summer Concert at the Victory Hall in Warsash.

The donation was kindly presented to Alzheimer's Society at the Solent Singers' Monday evening rehearsal on 22 October. Liz Bennett, President of the Solent Singers Choir said

'So many people are affected by dementia in later years, sometimes with devastating effects on their families. We are really pleased to have been able to raise this money that we hope will help support the amazing work of Alzheimer’s Society.'

We would like to thank The Solent Singers for kindly supporting Alzheimer's Society and for organising their wonderful summer concert in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
