Beauty and the Beast production raises £1,000 for Alzheimer's Society

Between 14 February and 18 February 2012 the Burton Amateur Stage Entertainers (BASE) of Staffordshire took to the stage for their 2012 stage production of Beauty and the Beast.
This year BASE selected Alzheimer's Society to be the beneficiary of their production, raising funds through collections across the week and interval raffles. Throughout the week BASE raised an incredible £1000!
On Sunday 18 November our Community Fundraiser Emily Weighill went along to meet some of the cast for the 'big cheque' presentation at the Burton upon Trent Christmas lights switch-on in Staffordshire, where they were promoting next year's production of Aladdin.
Emily said:
'It was fantastic to meet some of the cast from the BASE group. We are really grateful for the support they have provided this year. They have not only raised much-needed funds to help support people living with dementia and their carers in the local community but they have helped to raise awareness of dementia. I would like to thank each and every one of the members of BASE for their hard work and dedication.'
We would like to thank everyone from BASE for choosing to support Alzheimer's Society in 2012 and we hope to see you all again soon!
