Strabane Golf Club Tashe-tastic fundraising for Alzheimer's Society

Published 22 November 2012

After a long hard month of beard growing, the Strabane Golf Club are coming together on Friday 30 December to celebrate their achievement and raise money for Alzheimer's Society.

A big thank you to the 25 individuals from Strabane who have been growing their beards this month in aid of Alzheimer's Society. They will be celebrating with a hair-raising event on Friday 30 November in the Strabane Golf Club at 8pm.

Sean is the Captain of Strabane Golf Club, he says:

'Each year the captain chooses a charity to raise funds for and this year the chosen charity is Alzheimer's Society. I chose Alzheimer's Society because my father-in-law, Charlie, died last December and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a short while before he died.

To date I have raised over £1,500 and wish to make that £2,000 before I finish my tenure in December. Myself and a few of my friends have gotten together and we are going to grow a moustache for Movember and hopefully raise the £500 to take me to £2,000.'

There is still time to support Sean and his 'tache growing' friends by visiting his Justgiving page.

If you would like to get involved in fundraising in your local area we have lots of ideas for fundraising individually or there are many events that you can sign up to. All funds raised will go towards supporting Alzheimer's Society.
