Former England and Wolves goalkeeper smashes £100,000 target.

Bert Williams, an extraordinary footballer and fundraiser, has smashed the back of the net when it comes to reaching his goal of raising £100,000 for Alzheimer's Society.

Bert, 92, is a Wolverhampton's Wanderers legend and has won 30 caps for his country in the 1950's.  After the death of his wife Evelyn, Bert Williams has been raising money in aid of Alzheimer's Society setting himself a staggering goal of £100,000.

Matt Murray, another former Wolves goalkeeper has kept Bert onside for his goal, raising £10,000 through his testimonial year.

Bert said,

'Matt Murray is a lovely lad, out of his Testimonial Year Fund he has presented me with a cheque for £10,000 which is to go to my account with the Alzheimer's Society.  I started my fundraising for the Society in 2002 when my dear wife Evelyn died from Alzheimer's disease - the Society was so kind and helpful to me in the years leading up to her death.'

Even after his own amazing achievement and hard work Bert now hopes to raise even more money and has now set a new target of £150,000.
