'For me the business of life is the acquisition of memories, and one of the cruellest aspects of Alzheimer's is that it steals the core of what life is about. It isn't stealing the ability to sing or swim, which we can cope without. It's stealing life itself.

'I commend Alzheimer's Society for its work in helping all those affected by dementia and as a proud ambassador, I want to do all I can to raise awareness of this debilitating disease.

'I hope the competition goes a small way to making people aware of the resources, services and support Alzheimer's Society has to offer.'
