Gypsy wedding queen Thelma Madine – complete with a spectacular creation in pink - joined 777 people taking part in the Alzheimer's Society Aintree Memory Walk on Sunday (23 September).
One of her classic gigantic dresses modelled by Emma Thorpe, of Warrington, was on view during the event which for the second year running was among the charity's biggest in the country.
Thelma said:
'It is fantastic that so many people joined together from across Merseyside to back Aintree Memory Walk and have a wonderful day out while fighting the disease every step of the way.
'I'm delighted to have been able to come along to start walkers on their way for such a great cause raising awareness and money to support people with dementia and their carers.'

Graham Hudson of Huyton, Liverpool, walked with his wife Norma whose sister Barbara Smith was diagnosed with Alzheimer's aged just 56.
Norma said:
'The impact was devastating - the Barbara we knew was no longer there for the last five years. She died two years ago.'
Graham said:
'She was a beautiful, intelligent woman and worked as a medical secretary. She became unable to communicate as a result of Alzheimer's.
'She attended her daughter's wedding and was a stranger there. She didn't know what was going on or recognise her daughter, son or grandchildren.'
Alzheimer's Society Community fundraiser Fran D'Arcy, said:
'We have seen people of all ages walking together to fight dementia - the response has been absolutely magnificent.
'Together everyone has taken a huge step to support the vital services that we provide for people with dementia and carers in Merseyside and our search for better treatments that are so badly need.'
Memory Walk 2012 was held in partnership with Bupa Care Homes. Together, Alzheimer's Society and Bupa aim to support more people living with dementia through the funds that are raised.
