Hartford Care adopted Alzheimer’s Society again as their nominated charity in 2012 and have made some fantastic fundraising efforts over the past year.
Residents and staff of the Hartford Care Group of Residential Care Homes, their friends and relatives once again united in community spirit over the past 12 months and, through a series of fundraising activities, raised a grand total of £1,674.89 for Alzheimer's Society.
Events held at the group's eight care homes included summer fetes, cream teas, themed dinners and residents parties which were fun for all involved. A cheque presentation took place at one of Hartford Care's homes, Bethel House in Barton on Sea, Hampshire on 9 August.
Natalie Bettinson accepted a cheque on behalf of Alzheimer's Society from Sean Gavin, CEO and Gemma Ridout-Bowden, Manager of Bethel House along with Sue Burton, Operations Manager and some staff and residents at Bethel House.
Sean Gavin says
'We have been amazed by everybody's support in our fundraising efforts for Alzheimer's Society. Our residents and their relatives, along with the great teams of staff we have in all of our homes, all enjoy taking part and contributing to event preparations with great enthusiasm. These occasions are an excellent chance for our residents to get together with their family and friends and bring a real sense of community to the home.'
Natalie Bettinson, Community Fundraiser for Hampshire & Isle of Wight, said
'We thank Hartford Care for choosing to support Alzheimer's Society and for raising a fantastic amount. This generous donation is a great effort from all the staff, residents and their families and will help us to provide services to those living with dementia in the local area. Hartford Care have helped to raise awareness of dementia and their support is really appreciated by everyone here at Alzheimer's Society.'
As a charity we rely on events like these to raise vital funds to support people to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure for tomorrow.
