Today (Monday 18 June) is the start of National Carers Week – a week where we celebrate the contribution and dedication made by the UK’s six million unpaid carers.

National Carers Week takes place this year from 18- 24 June 2012 and there are a host of events around the country. Carers are being asked how much their caring role impacts on their health and well-being and whether they are worried that the cuts to services from statutory agencies and the government will make them shoulder even more of a burden.

On Wednesday 20 June 2012 Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North are planning an event at the Ware Priory.  Barbara Pointon MBE a carer and campaigner for Alzheimer's Society will be the keynote speaker talking about 'Offering Enlightened Care and Support to People with Dementia and their Carers'.
