It's Volunteers' Week and we wanted to say a big thank you to all our amazing volunteers
Published 30 May 2012
Today is the start of Volunteers' Week (1 - 7 June) and it's a fantastic opportunity to say thank you to all our volunteers and inspire others to get involved.
Volunteering is flexible, ranging from a few hours a year to several hours a week Across the UK, there is a huge range of options that you can get involved in.
We have over 6,000 active volunteers who are absolutely vital to the Society. Without their help and commitment we could not deliver our wide range of services, campaigns, fundraising activities or help assess research grant applications - to name just of the few activities they undertake.
Through our volunteers passion, enthusiasm and experience, we are able to reach so many more people. Volunteers' Week is an ideal opportunity to say a special and very public thank you to every single volunteer. Around our regions and countries many celebratory events have already been arranged. Together, we are making a difference to people with dementia and their carers.
We produced a video to say a big thank you to all our volunteers - watch it below.
