A 12-year-old Olympic torchbearer has chosen Alzheimer’s Society as the beneficiaries from her latest fundraising challenge.

Lauren Gander is an inspirational girl who was born with spina bifida and was warned by doctors that she may never walk. Lauren defied all odds and did walk, and to date has raised over £100,000 for various charities.

This year Lauren has decided to raise vital funds for Alzheimer's Society by taking part in an indoor skydive challenge.

Lauren said,

'In the past I have always supported children's charities and have raised £110,000 to date.

'This time I liked the idea of an adults charity and really think that Alzheimer's Society is a cruel disease the way it robs people of their loved ones.'

If you would like to support Lauren in her fantastic challenge and help her raise as much money to support people affected by dementia then please visit her JustGiving page.
