Vote for your favourite Alzheimer’s Society project to win a NatWest CommunityForce award
Published 26 September 2011
Voting opened today, 26 September, for the NatWest CommunityForce awards, and Alzheimer’s Society has several projects in the running across the country.
NatWest CommunityForce is a new initiative which sees NatWest working to help the communities in which we live and work, and hundreds of local charities and projects stand to win an award of £6,000 each.
There are a wide range of projects from local Alzheimer's Society services in the running for an award. Harrow and Bangor are both looking for funding for Dementia Cafés, in Maidstone the project is peer support groups for younger people, in Newcastle they are looking for extra support for their general services, and in Hounslow the award would be used for a sensory garden for people with dementia.
Also in the running are a dementia support activity group in South East Wales, dementia information and support services in both Bridgend and Cardiff, meaningful day activities in Swansea, and Singing for the Brain groups in Northampton and Co. Durham.
Lastly, the service in Portsmouth are looking to secure funds for a monthly lunch club, in Bedford they would use the money to help fund their Music 4 Memory project, in Eastbourne it would go towards an evening respite care service, and in Norwich their Sing Together project would benefit if they won an award.
We need your help to try and make sure that at least some of these amazing projects get the extra funding they need. Voting is open from 26 September - 23 October, and the three projects with the most votes in each CommunityForce area will win the awards.
