BTIG cheque donation

BTIG generously donated $33,000 to Alzheimer’s Society from their Commissions for Charity Day.

BTIG is a premier institutional brokerage and fund services company. Every year BTIG donates a day's commissions in support of various non-profit organisations and has raised more than $24 million since its inception in 2003. This year they raised over $4 million at its 9th Commissions for Charity Day held on 27 April with more than 175 charities benefiting globally.  This was the first time their London office had participated and although being one of the quietest trading days of the year (having to contend with the Royal wedding that week) they still managed to make a significant contribution.

Gary Hayes, CEO of BTIG Limited, said:

'After such an impressive Charity day, it has been fantastic to be able to support some local and national charities and we are proud to be associated with Alzheimer's Society. '

This generous support from BTIG will help people living with dementia, their carers and families. There are 750,000 living with dementia in the UK and there is currently no cure. BTIG's will help support people living with dementia through Alzheimer's Society's vital services and commitment to research.

Jonathan Andrews, Head of Partnership Fundraising, said:

'We are delighted that BTIG have decided to support Alzheimer's Society. Dementia is the biggest health problem in the UK. Their generous donation takes us one step closer to finding a cure. On behalf of Alzheimer's Society I'd want to thank BTIG for giving us hope for the future.'
