Frequently Asked Questions: Volunteer

Q: I can only volunteer for a short period of time. Should I bother contacting you?

Answer:
Yes! We have a wide range of roles and our vacancies change from week to week. This means that we cannot guarantee a volunteer role at all times of the year but we'll try our very best. The type of role best suited to you will be influenced by the time you have available, but also by your skills and experience. And as you would expect, the sooner you contact us, the more time we'll have to get things organised for you.

If you have experience in your chosen area, this will help to speed things up a little. However, be reassured that many of our volunteers join us without previous experience in their chosen role. Many people with a short burst of available time wish to help with services, but sometimes don't contact us early enough for us to complete all the formalities. The sooner you contact us the better; we can then be open and honest about what is and what isn't possible in the time available.
