Answer:
No, volunteering is an activity where you give your time freely. You should not be 'out-of-pocket' for what you do. We reimburse agreed public travel on the production of a receipt. Car mileage is reimbursed on a 'pence per mile' basis. This is the same whether you are an employee or a volunteer. Other expenses are covered too, where they are appropriate to your role.
