KPMG Case study

Our partnership with KPMGKPMG logo

KPMG, the leading UK accountancy firm, selected Alzheimer's Society as its 2008-2010 national charity partner following an all employee vote. Their ambition of raising £800,000 over the partnership was smashed and we are delighted to announce that they raised £1,050,000!

LRunnersaunched on 1 October 2008, their 11,000 partners across 22 UK offices were actively encouraged to share their time, skills and enthusiasm in helping us support people with dementia and their carers.

This relationship is Alzheimer's Society largest corporate partnership got off to a great start and they have continued to support the Society in many ways. Activities have included raffles, runs, a KPMG cookbook and The Big Blue Bike Ride which took place in May and June 2010.

A key part of the relationship was based on volunteering, which is actively encouraged at KPMG with every employee allowed 3.5 hours a month of firm time to spend volunteering during work hours.

KPMG supported local Alzheimer's Society branches, getting involved in team based activities as well as more strategic support through the firms programme of pro bono volunteering at a national and local level within the Society.

Mike Kelly, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at KPMG says,

"We are committed to developing an innovative and effective partnership, positively contributing to the charity's vital work in the UK."

Thank you to everyone at KPMG for all of their time and support throughout the 2 years.

Big Blue Bike Ride

On 28 May 2010, KPMG embarked on their biggest cycle relay to date which began in Aberdeen and Plymouth and ended in their Canary Wharf office all in aid of Alzheimer's Society.
