Length: Two days
Trainer: Danuta Lipinska
Cost: £250 per participant

An interactive course aimed at helping care staff and managers support and prepare staff to understand and support clients, families and themselves through the challenges of multiple change associated with loss, grief and adaptation.  An opportunity to value current skills and develop others in dementia care.

Day one will recognise the impact of own experiences, introducing experiences of change, loss and adaptation as inevitable parts of life as well as revisiting ideas on death and dying and exploring the importance of culture and ritual.

Day two explores end stage issues, the nature of 'double bereavement' and ways of responding and coping.  The course recognises the importance of enabling and supporting care givers to move beyond the caring role, discussing ways to offer specialised support.

Important: The content of the course may bring up different types of emotion in some people, especially those recently bereaved and the course is not recommended for anyone who has had a bereavement in the last six months. Please speak with your line manager before booking.
