Our partnership with Bupa Care Homes

Following the outstanding success of last year's Memory Walk, Alzheimer's Society and Bupa Care Homes announce a second year of partnership in support of the charity's flagship fundraising event

Throughout the month of September, Memory Walk sees thousands of people across England, Wales and Northern Ireland walk together with a common cause; fighting dementia. Through our partnership last year, Alzheimer's Society and Bupa recruited over 10,000 walkers and raised a fantastic £850,000. This year, we want to make Memory Walk even better. With support from Bupa Care Homes, we want to increase the number of walkers to 20,000 and hope to raise over a £1 million to help people live well with dementia.

In addition to promoting Memory Walk and helping us deliver the best possible experience for participants on the day, Bupa has also engaged Andy Graffin who represented Great Britain at Olympic and World Championship level,  to support our intrepid walkers with a training plan for the Memory Walk Marathons. But there is more, as Memory Walk 2012 will also see the introduction of the Bupa 'Memory Mile'. This exciting new incentive will give each walker at flagship events the chance to take on an extra mile in return for a £5 donation to Alzheimer's Society from Bupa.
