Tony Hirst

Biography

Tony Hirst is a British actor and theatre director known for his appearances as Mark Barnes in Hollyoaks and more recently, Paul Kershaw in Coronation Street.

The actor's interest in Alzheimer's Society stemmed from a dementia storyline being portrayed in Coronation Street. Fellow cast members, Sue Cleaver and Judy Holt, who were involved in the emotive plot have also supported the Society.

Tony said:

'Since taking on this part, I have learnt so much more about dementia and how it affects not just the person with the condition but has an impact on the whole family. I am really enjoying the opportunity to help raise awareness about this devastating condition.'
