Facilitation skills for cascading dementia awareness
Designed for care providers with a large number of staff requiring dementia awareness training, this programme will equip key individuals with the skills to cascade the Alzheimer's Society training resource Tomorrow is another day.
Participants will be equipped with the relevant knowledge and skills to deliver a facilitated dementia awareness sessions.
The course length is dependent on the prior experience of the participants. For those with experience of training delivery a two day programme will focus on dementia as a specialist subject, and introduce participants to the training resource Tomorrow is another day. For those with little or no experience of training delivery an additional study day will cover facilitation skills.
On completion of the programme participants undertake the short multiple choice exam Alzheimer's Society Foundation Certificate in dementia awareness before becoming Alzheimer's Society Cascade Facilitators. Cascade facilitators then register to become invigilators for the exam, so that their learners are able to sit the test on completion of the Tomorrow is another day course.
