Hugh Dennis
Biography
Comedian and actor, Hugh is the star of BBC One's Outnumbered and BBC Two's Mock the Week.
Hugh's many television appearances include My Hero, Have I Got News For You and Spitting Image. He regularly performs with fellow comedian Steve Punt on TV and radio, including The Now Show on BBC Radio 4.
For the recent series of Outnumbered, one of the main storylines involves Hugh's character selecting a care home for his father-in-law who's in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. The family's decision highlighted the reality of caring for a person with dementia and Hugh has since been an active supporter of Alzheimer's Society.
In 2009, Hugh took part in the Bupa Great South Run in Portsmouth and took part in 2010's Bupa Great Yorkshire Run in Sheffield. He returned to Portsmouth in October to once again take part in the Bupa Great South Run.
'For the recent BBC series Outnumbered, one of the main plots is centred around my father-in-law who's in the early stages of Alzheimer's. We have to make a decision about where he will live. It really brought home to me some of the tough decisions many families face.'
