Care, Cure, Credit Suisse
Staff at Credit Suisse's London offices voted Alzheimer's Society to be their Charity of the Year for 2010 - a year in which they hope to achieve big things for people with dementia.
Credit Suisse invited a member of the Alzheimer's Society corporate partnerships team to join the bank's philanthropy team for the year and working together they aim to raise a staggering £300,000 to support people with dementia and those who care for them. The money raised this year will fund a support worker for younger people with dementia in East London, the Credit Suisse Fellowship in Dementia Research and help the Society to provide support and information across the country.
Credit Suisse will be embarking on many fundraising events over the coming months to reach that all important target from raffles, dragon boat races and karaoke competitions to the Enduro Challenge, the ultimate relay triathlon from London to Paris! Staff are guaranteed to have a lot of fun - and all for a good cause.
As well as fundraising Credit Suisse and Alzheimer's Society will be working together to increase understanding and awareness of dementia, engage staff in volunteering and provide information and support to staff who have friends or relatives living with dementia.
Ruth Sutherland, Acting Chief Executive of Alzheimer's Society said:
'We would like to express our huge thanks to Credit Suisse employees for selecting Alzheimer's Society as their Charity of the Year 2010.
We are extremely grateful for their support and look forward to a productive partnership both in terms of funds raised and educating employees about dementia.'
