Angela Lonsdale

BiographyAngela Lonsdale

Soap star and former Coronation Street actress, Angela Lonsdale is a passionate supporter of Alzheimer's Society.

Best known for playing Emma Taylor in Corrie, Angela has also appeared in The Bill and Doctors.

Angela has personally experienced the devastating effect dementia has on a person and their family as her mother, Yvonne, died with the condition in 2007 aged just 63.

An active supporter of the Society, Angela often speaks out on behalf of people with dementia and their carers. In April 2010, Angela hosted an evening ball in aid of Alzheimer's Society and helped us launch our partnership with Tesco.

'Although it's still painful, I'm speaking out about mum's condition because I want to help others with Alzheimer's disease and all forms of dementia and raise awareness, for my mum's sake and for all those other people who will be affected by this cruel condition in the future.'
