Gordon Banks
Biography
Gordon Banks is a former footballer and England's World Cup-winning goalkeeper. He is patron of Alzheimer's Society's North Staffordshire services.
Gordon played for England between 1963 and 1972 and played in their 4-2 World Cup final victory over West Germany at Wembley in 1966. His save against Pele at the 1970 World Cup is often credited as the greatest save of all time.
Helping raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's Society is important to Gordon as his brother had Alzheimer's disease.
A passionate supporter of his local service, Gordon has been an active patron of the North Staffordshire branch for a number of years, taking part in Memory Walks and attending Alzheimer's Society events in the area.
