Caring for the person with dementia: A handbook for families and other carers
Since the first edition came out, this handbook has been immensely popular with carers. The new carers' handbook covers all aspects of caring for people with dementia, from early symptoms through to the later stages.

Each chapter deals with a different topic, including information about the nature of dementia and what you can expect in the future, the experience of caring, practical support, and legal and financial issues. You can use it as a look-up guide when you need specific advice, or you may want to read it straight through.

This new edition includes a brand new index and plenty of tips and strategies to help you cope.

When does the NHS pay for care?Alzheimer's Society campaigns for people with dementia to be given access to fully-funded NHS care by promoting NHS continuing healthcare. Few people are aware of NHS continuing healthcare, but if you are deemed eligible for it, it could save you thousands of pounds in care costs.

This A4 booklet offers guidance on eligibility. It explains what NHS continuing healthcare is, how you might be able to get it, and what to do if your request is turned down.
Cost: single copies of the booklet are free, or cost £2 each for two or more.
