Ruth Langsford

BiographyRuth Langsford

Ruth Langsford presents ITV1's flagship daytime show This Morning every Friday with her husband Eamonn Holmes.

She's also a host on Loose Women and often guests on panel and comedy shows. Ruth is also a writer and is currently a weekly columnist for Woman magazine.

Ruth has talked about her Dad, Dennis, having Alzheimer's disease when presenting This Morning and it's because of him that she supports Alzheimer's Society.

As an Ambassador for Alzheimer's Society, Ruth has attended many fundraising events to raise money to help people live well with dementia and was also the face of Memory Walks 2011.

'When I first spoke about my Dad on the television I got very emotional and broke down in tears - Alzheimer's Society contacted me soon after that, offering me and my family advice and support.

When people are first diagnosed with this awful illness they and their families are often in shock and feel bewildered and isolated - the Alzheimer's Society can help them in so many ways even if it's just a sympathetic ear.'

Alzheimer's Society vice-presidents, patrons and ambassadors programme

The Vice-Presidents, Patrons and Ambassadors programme was launched by the Alzheimer's Society at the House of Lords on Thursday 15 March 2007, with more than 30 influential people from the worlds of business, politics, science and the arts.
