Britt Ekland
Biography 
Actress Britt Ekland has campaigned for many years to raise awareness and funds to help people living with dementia and their carers.
Britt's mother had Alzheimer's disease so in her memory Britt regularly represents the Society at major fundraising events, using her high profile image to help other families affected by all forms of dementia.
Britt's many international film credits include the critically acclaimed Get Carter and the cult classic The Wicker Man, as well as appearing as Bond Girl, Mary Goodnight, in the 1974 James Bond blockbuster The Man with the Golden Gun.
'When my mother first became ill the word Alzheimer's was not so widely understood as it is today. It is thanks to the work and efforts of you all at the Alzheimer's Society that this word is now recognised and the taboos are gradually being lifted.'

Alzheimer's Society vice-presidents, patrons and ambassadors programme
The Vice-Presidents, Patrons and Ambassadors programme was launched by the Alzheimer's Society at the House of Lords on Thursday 15 March 2007, with more than 30 influential people from the worlds of business, politics, science and the arts.
