Come and get involved with some of our exciting fundraising events, happening across the area:
- Theatre Production of Terry Pratchett's 'The Fifth Elephant' - 17 - 26 January: With a cacophony of dwarfs, vampires, werewolves, the odd troll and a talking dog, this production promises to be great fun for audiences of all ages. All proceeds from the gala performance on 22 January will go to Alzheimer's Society.
- Skittles and Ploughmans Evening - 18 January: Enjoy a evening of food and light activity while raising money for Alzheimer's Society.
- Nightingale School of Dance and Drama present 'Winter Showtime' - 19 January: Tap your feet to the music and feel inspired by ballet, latin and tap dancing performed by dancers from 3 years to 21 years and over.
- Portsmouth Lord Mayor's Disco Appeal Event - 19 January: Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy an evening to remember.
- Portsmouth Lord Mayor's Appeal Coffee Morning - 25 January: Enjoy coffee, cake and a chat with the Lord Mayor in aid of Alzheimer's Society and The Whitburn Trust.
- Portsmouth Lord Mayor's Appeal Coffee Morning - 22 February: Enjoy coffee, cake and a chat with the Lord Mayor in aid of Alzheimer's Society and The Whitburn Trust.
- Portsmouth Lord Mayor's Appeal Dinner at The Pizza House - 1 March: Enjoy an Italian Feast and support the Portsmouth Lord Mayor's Appeal in aid of Alzheimer's Society and The Whitburn Trust.
- Portsmouth Lord Mayor's Appeal Coffee Morning - 28 March: Enjoy coffee, cake and a chat with the Lord Mayor in aid of Alzheimer's Society and The Whitburn Trust.
- Dale Fontaine's 'Echoes of Elvis' with live orchestra concert - 7 April: Enjoy an evening of Elvis music from the era of 1954-77 and help us to lead the fight against dementia.

Do you have some time to spare? Everyone has something to contribute to the Society. Volunteering is flexible, ranging from a few hours a year to several hours a week. It's your choice. Find out more about volunteering opportunities in your area.

In the Central West area there are over 50,000 people with dementia, and it is predicted that this figure will rise to just under 70,000 by 2021.
There are support groups and local services which provide day care and home care for people with dementia, as well as support and befriending services to help partners and families cope with the demands of caring. Find our more about services in the Central West area.
