Local news

Beauty and the Beast production raises £1,000 - Thank you to the Burton Amateur Stage Entertainers for supporting us through their 2012 performances of Beauty and the Beast.

Belmont golf day raises £15,000 - Wayne Barton and Chris Cole continued their incredible fundraising efforts for the Society into a third year by organising a golf day held at Belmont Golf Club. We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved.

'Ball for Boing' raises over £1,000 - Two sisters from Burntwood, Staffordshire have raised over £1,000 with a wonderful black tie event in aid of Alzheimer's Society.

Local volunteering opportunities

Do you have some time to spare? Everyone has something to contribute to the Society. Volunteering is flexible, ranging from a few hours a year to several hours a week. It's your choice.

More about dementia in the West Midlands

In the West Midlands area there are almost 69,000 living with dementia, and it is predicted that this figure will rise to over 90,000 by 2021.

There are support groups and local services which provide day care and home care for people with dementia, as well as support and befriending services to help partners and families cope with the demands of caring. Find out more about services in the West Midlands area.
