- Kent Golfers raise over £25, 000 for Alzheimer's Society - Members of Nizel's Golf & Country Club in Hidenborough, Kent, chose Alzheimer's Society as their charity of the year and raised more than £25, 000 to support people with dementia in their local area.
- Fundraising Volunteer conquers Ben Nevis for Alzheimer's Society - Jackie Bennett raised over £7,500 for Alzheimer's Society whilst tackling and conquering Ben Nevis.
- MGM Advantage breaks tandem skydiving record in aid of Alzheimer's Society - MGM Advantage, the retirement income specialist, has entered the record books by achieving the most tandem parachute jumps in a day, in aid of Alzheimer's Society.
- Memory Walks across the South East region all proved a great success raising even more money than last year with a grand total in excess of £60, 000 (exact totals still to be confirmed). Thank you to all of our supporters who organised their own walks and to those who attended our flagships.
- Wentworth Golf day - The beautiful weather just added to the great successes of the day. Everyone had a brilliant time and raised over £17,000 in the process. If you would like to be involved next year, save the date - 9 October 2013.
- Cedar Court Care Home holds a balloon launch to mark World Alzheimer's day and also raise funds for Alzheimer's Society, with some balloons turning up as far a-field as Austria.
Local volunteering opportunities
Do you have some time to spare? Everyone has something to contribute to the Society. Volunteering is flexible, ranging from a few hours a year to several hours a week. It's your choice.

In the South East there are around 50,000 people living with dementia today, and it is predicted that this will rise to 66,834 people living with dementia by 2021.
