easyJet
Our partnership with easyJet
easyJet, Europe's leading low fares airline, partnered with Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland in 2009 and again in 2010.
easyJet airline raised money through their on board collections and through sales of their scratch cards over the two year partnership. We are delighted to announce that the final total, raised to support people living with dementia across the UK, is a fantastic £786,500.
Jo Swinhoe, Alzheimer's Society's Director of Fundraising and Marketing said,
'We are absolutely thrilled with the amazing total raised through working with easyJet, from the generosity of their customers and employees. The partnership has also helped to raise awareness of dementia and how Alzheimer's Society is working to support people with this condition. Thank you easyJet and easyJet customers.'
In addition, five family carers around the country have been presented with mini breaks courtesy of easyJet and KPMG to thank them for caring for their loved ones and give them a well-earned rest.
Alzheimer's Society celebrity supporters and easyJet crew surprised the carers with the mini breaks ahead of Carers' Week (14 June - 20 June), and to recognise the commitment of family carers nationwide.
The carers, who are from Newcastle, Gatwick, Manchester, Belfast and Bristol, care for their husbands and parents. Mostly, they dedicate all their time to their loved ones, leaving them with little opportunity to relax or enjoy hobbies.
