Identity
Sue Earsman
You no longer see your bride,
That lovely lady by your side
In all those photos in the book.
You do not need a second look
To know this woman isn't her.
And when she's said she is
You've laughed,
Proclaiming that you're not that daft!
And what of you,
That charming guy
Who made me pass all others by?
In a full moon that never wains,
We howl and wail and feel the chains
That lock us in this mutant state
Where all emotions turn to hate.
Yet pity and compassion still
Tug at my heart,
And always will.
