LGBT Carers Group newsletter, September 2006
Welcome
Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter. Whether you are a member of our lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) family, a member of the Society, a professional working in the field of dementia care, or you just happened to find this copy, we are glad that you are reading it.Our network has come a long way in the last few years and, although an enormous amount of awareness raising has taken place, we know that there is much still to be done.
For the first time our Newsletter has a theme. You will find five articles here, linked to the theme of 'sexuality and inclusion'. This isn't exactly a 'flavour of the month' topic at present. The more reason, therefore, to air - it especially when there are examples of good practice. It is not the first time that we have called attention to the need for all involved in care-giving to go beyond the mere signing up to equal opportunities policies and to move towards actions which make those policies a living and meaningful reality, and we are glad to do it again.
The following articles deal with the issues of 'sexuality and inclusion' and we commend them to you.
Note: Highlights of this edition are available online. Click on the article titles to read each article. A downloadable pdf version of the newsletter is also available.
