I first found out about the Alzheimer's Society after my husband was diagnosed at the age of 56 with Alzheimer's disease. It took six years for my husband to receive a diagnosis having consulted our GP and privately a psychiatrist and a psychologist. During this time as a result of all the stress and worry about my husband I suffered a heart attack.
