Planning your event

To help you plan your event effectively we have produced a fundraising planning sheet. We've also completed a sample to show you how it works.

Online sponsorship

One of the simplest ways to raise funds quickly and easily is to set up an online sponsorship form. It just takes a few minutes to set up your own web page and you can then email the link to all your friends, family and colleagues so they can sponsor you. Fundraising and the law

Please be aware that there are restrictions on some forms of fundraising. Please check out the information we have put together on fundraising and the law before you start organising your fundraising activity.

Traditional sponsorship

If you would prefer a paper sponsorship form you will need to contact the events team or complete the online form to register your fundraising activity.

Sponsorship money

If you are organising a large event you may want to open a special bank account to deposit the money in to. Check out our banking guidance notes for details.

Publicity

To raise awareness of your activity (and possibly more money) it often helps to get your story in your local press.
