  • Boccia Bowling
    Gentle exercise while having fun, socialising with other people with dementia and their families
  • Circle Dancing
    Gentle exercise while having fun, socialising with other people with dementia and their families
  • Dementia Support
    Dementia suppot worker is the first point of contact for people with dementia and their carers. Support via telephone, home visit, or through appointments at the memory clinic. Support with appointments, benefits, accessing services.
  • Education Group
    Run jointly with the Memory Service. 8 week programme with 2 groups running concurrently.Group 1 for people with dementia offers opportunity to share experiences, gain information and advice about dementia and develop useful coping techniques. Group 2 is for the carers of people in group 1. Again opportunity for support, advice and practical information. The 2 groups meet together at the end to build support and friendship.
  • Forget me not cafe - Altofts
    A coffee morning held each month that gives the opportunity for people to access advice and support from alzheimers society staff and gain support from each other. Informal gathering with occassional entertainment.
  • Forget me not cafe - Castleford
    Coffee mornings held every month and give opportunity for people to access advice and support from Alzheimers Society staff and gain support from each other. Informal gathering with occassional entertainment.
  • Forget me not cafe - Kettlethorpe
    Coffee mornings held every month and give opportunity for people to access advice and support from Alzheimers Society staff and gain support from each other. Informal gathering with occassional entertainment.
  • Forget me not cafe - Ossett
    People with dementia and thier families and carers can come together to meet other families, access information and support and talk to health and care workers.

    People with dementia, their families and carers can come together to meet other families, access information and support and talk to health and care workers.
  • Games Galore - Hemsworth
    A variety of easy-to-play games such as darts, dominoes, hoop-la, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

  • Gardening Club - Wakefield
    An opportunity to enjoy gentle gardening activities on our own plot of land. Flowers, vegetables - the choice is yours. No previous experince necessary.
  • Home Respite service
    Registered as a domiciliary care agency with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), this service is accessed via social worker referral. Trained support workers visit people in their own homes to provide support whilst giving the carer a break.
  • Information and Advice
    The service provides an initial contact point for people with dementia, their families and carers as well as professionals and the general public. Information and advice about dementia, sercice provision, benefit advice.
  • Singing for the Brain - Ossett
    For people with dementia, their families and carers to express themselves and to socialise with others in a fun and supportive group. No experience or talent necessary - just enthusiasm!
