Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia that affects over 700,000 people in the UK.  In Leicestershire and Rutland over 11,000 people have been diagnosed with a form of dementia.

We exist to support people with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, their families and carers by:

Providing emotional and social support

Providing information and advice

Raising awareness of the need for services

Branch Services

  • Advice and information

  • Practical and emotional support including home visits

  • Contact/help telephone line

  • The setting up and facilitating support groups for carers and people with dementia 

  • Advocacy to articulate needs and access services

  • The raising of awareness about problems of dementia and the help available

  • Contributing to education/training programmes and relevant professionals

  • Training - care homes and colleges.  Advice on person-centred care.
