Services offered

• Carer Support Groups

  The carers support groups are held on Wednesdays and Fridays each month. They run alongside our Rest a While Service at St Andrews Church Hall, The Stow, Harlow. People with dementia are welcome to join the Rest a While service whilst the carer meets with other carers.

• Forget Me Not group

  Monthly meeting of people who are no longer caring for their relative, either because they have moved to residential care or have passed away.

• Information Provision

  Provides a first point of call by providing a mix of a telephone answering service, information packs, leaflets and publications. Onwards referral to an outreach worker.

• Outings and Special Events

  Outings and trips offered on an ad hoc basis throughout the year, for people already using the branch services. Please contact the branch for details of forthcoming events

• Outreach services

  Dedicated members of staff providing support, information and advice to people with dementia, their carers and families whether in their own homes or other locations.

• Rest a while

  Social events including social clubs, drop in meeting and dementia cafes run on a reguls basis in an informal setting. Please contact the branch for further details.

• Right From the Start Service

  To promote the need for early support and intervention and to offer information and advice in a timely and sensitive manner. Benefit forms also completed.

• Training and Professional support for people worki

  One day training courses offered in all settings to increase understanding and awareness of dementia

• Training for Clients and Service Users

  5 week training courses, held throughout the year. Training provided by a Society approved trainer in dementia care for people recently diagnosed with dementia and their carer.

• Young Onset Dementia Support Group

  Held on a Tuesday evening at Merefields Day Centre, Harlow CM19 4AY. Open to people with young onset dementia and their carers.
