Alzheimer's Society Day of Action on charging for care
On Friday 20 June 2008 Alzheimer's Society supporters came out in force to campaign for an end to the current system of charging for care.
To highlight the issue ten marches took place across England including Carlisle, Bradford, Nottingham, Watford, Portsmouth, London, Liverpool, Plymouth and Newcastle.

Protesters armed with placards, petitions and banners marched through cities. Many were joined by their local MPs, who agreed to take the message back to Parliament.
The message was clear; people with dementia and their carers want a fairer system that delivers good quality care at a fair price.
