We arrange leisure activities for people with dementia and their carer's to enjoy together.  See below for details or for further information please either ring our office on 01733 893853, fax us on 01733 893876 or email us on pbalzheimers@tiscali.co.uk

Pub Lunch - Once a month we arrange a pub lunch at 12.00pm at a local pub, each month is at a different venue.  Details are as follows:

Pub Lunches   Thursday 2nd October - 12.00 noon The Bluebell (10 High Street, Glinton Tel: 01733 252285)

If you need transport from your home for the pub lunches, the cost is £6.00 per person, please ring us on 01733 893853 to arrange.

Carpet Bowls - Every third Thursday of each month from 1.30pm at Loxley Community Centre.  Come and have fun - those already attending do.  Please note there is no carpet bowls in August.

Ten Pin Bowling - This is  usually held on the last Thursday of each month at Sturrock Way, Bretton at 1.45pm.  You can either meet at the venue or contact the office if you require transport.  Please note there is no ten pin bowling in August or October.

Other activities we arrange include theatre trips, walking & relaxation classes so watch out for new arrangements. 

                                                                               Outings

We arrange outings for people with dementia and their carers.  These trips are also available to former carers, members, volunteers, etc but priority will be given to carers and people with dementia if numbers are restricted.  Please contact the branch for further details.   

                                          Woburn Safari Park : Thursday 7th August 2008

We have arranged for three pick-up points starting at 9.15am (Orton, Coach Park City Centre and Werrington Centre Bus Stop), we will leave Woburn at approx 4pm.  The cost includes coach transport and admission to Safari Park is £17 per person (payment for this outing must be received asap).

                                                St Ives : Thursday 4th September 2008

We will be taking a trip to St. Ives and having lunch at the Dolphin Hotel which is situated by the river, close to the old river bridge. After lunch there will be time to walk around the centre of St. Ives. A two course lunch is £12 per person. Transport is available at a cost of £7 per person with the first pick-up in Peterborough leaving at 10am, transport will leave St. Ives at 3.30pm.

                                      Walk around Helpston : Thursday 11th September 2008

Why not join us for a walk around Helpston village (approx 1.2 miles - 1 hour stroll).  We will meet in the Exeter Arms car park (Church Lane, Helpston) at 1.45pm. After completing the walk we will stop for refreshments at the Exeter Arms.

                                         Rolling Back the Years : Friday 12th September 2008

Broadway Theatre is presenting ‘Rolling Back the Years’ a musical journey through the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. The show starts at 2.30pm and ends around 4.30pm – we will be meeting at the Theatre at 2.15pm. Tickets are £11 each.

                                      Wyevale Garden Centre : Thursday 13th November 2008

We are planning a trip to Wyevale Garden Centre, transport is available at a cost of £6 per person.
