The annual Memory Walk is the Alzheimer’s Society flagship fundraising event.
2006 was a great success with almost 200 Walks taking place
nationwide raising over £175,000 in sponsorship and donations.
This year 300 walks were expected to raise over £250,000.
Again we did our bit locally, this time basing our activities on Holymoorside.
We were blessed with dry weather and were led once more by the 'Walk this Way' group.
Many thanks to them and to all who took part or worked to make this another successful day.
The short walk was around Holymoorside village but the longer one covered part of the Chesterfield Round Walk.
The mud and stiles provided our most challenging terrain to date and everyone was ready to settle down on their return
to tea and cakes in the village hall.
