Once we are able to offer you one of our support services a member of our friendly, experienced team will come and meet you in your own home to answer any questions you and your family or carer may have.
Who we are:
We have a team of 8 support workers who visit clients in their own homes, providing a regular weekly break for carers. This enables carers to take time out from their role and gives clients an opportunity to socialize, go shopping, have a walk, visit a place of local interest or simply have a chat with a trained professional support worker. Some visits are made in the evenings and at weekends.
Support workers are chosen for their friendly and approachable manner along with their professional and caring approach to their work. This ensures that all clients and carers are provided with excellent care and support, aimed at meeting their individual needs. Some of our support workers have been with the Branch since it opened in 1991.
Debbie Jones is office manager and co-ordinates the carer support service. Debbie was a support worker for the Branch from 1992 – 2005 before she moved into the office “My experience of working closely with people with dementia and their carers has given me insight into the real needs of people and families with this devastating illness”.
Branch Services Manager is Graham Darley who joined the Society in July 2007. He comes from a charity background providing advice, information and advocacy service to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities in South Gloucestershire. He is looking forward to building on the existing services and activities already available within the area.
The office is open Monday – Friday. Please do contact if you need information, support, would like to make a referral or would like to assist us in any way, either as a volunteer or in any of our fundraising projects.
